Special Property Use Guidelines
For Liberty Hall Historic Site

Facilities

1. All outdoor areas of Liberty Hall Historic Site (LHHS) are available for rental.
2. The pantry and kitchen at the Orlando Brown House are available for use by a liscensed caterer chosen by the lesee.
3. Restrooms at Liberty Hall are available but must be requested upon signing the contract.
4. The maximum capacity of the gardens and grounds is 250 people.
5. Liberty Hall Historic Site will provide no equipment for use at rental events.
6. All large equipment such as tents and arches shall be approved by the management of LHHS prior to arrival of said equipment.

Rules and Regulations

1. For setup of tents or other large structural equipment, a staff member must be present to supervise installation.
2. Other than tents or other large structural equipment, the staff at LHHS will not be responsible for the setup of any equipment in the gardens and grounds.
3. The bench at the bottom of the Liberty Hall garden may be moved if necessary but it must be returned to its place on its cinderblocks at the conclusion of the event.
4. None of the furniture on the Orlando Brown House patio, including the planters, may be moved.
5. Lessee will complete all takedown and cleanup activities immediately following an event unless special arrangements have been made with the staff in advance.
6. The gardens and grounds shall be left clean and free of any decoration, debris or trash.
7. All trash must be removed from the site by the Lessee at the conclusion of the event.
8. All food and beverage served must be provided by a licensed caterer.
9. The lessee will provide a copy of the caterer's license and certificate of insurance to LHHS for its files.
10. Caterer may use the ovens, refrigerator, sink, dishwasher, countertops, and microwave in the Orlando Brown House kitchen.
11. Caterers must provide their own preparation and serving equipment and utensils including all appliances other than those listed above.
12. No plant material in the gardens or grounds may be altered, moved, or physically affected by or for the purposes of decoration.
13. The throwing of rice, birdseed or popcorn is strictly forbidden at LHHS.
14. No dancing is allowed on the porches of either the Orlando Brown House or Liberty Hall.

Regulations of Special Note

1. Liberty Hall Historic Site is first and foremost a historic site and museum and shall be treated as such at all times.
2. A LHHS staff member or designated volunteer will be present onsite during all rental activities.
3. Alcohol is NOT permitted on the grounds of Liberty Hall Historic Site. There will be no exceptions. (This will be enforced for anyone who signs a contract for rental at LHHS after Aug 1, 2003.)
4. Amplification of sound (electrical sound system) is not allowed due to LHHS being in a residential neighborhood.
5. Smoking is NOT permitted on the grounds of Liberty Hall Historic Site. If guests would like to smoke, they may do so outside of the property on the sidewalk along the road.

Claims and Damages

If the premises or contents of the houses or grounds are damaged in any part through an act of negligence of the lessee or of any person allowed on the premises by the less during the event or in preparation for the event, the lessor shall use any and all of the damage deposit that is require to restore the said premises or contents to their original condition, including replacement. The lessor might also require the lessee to reimburse the lessor for such sums as shall be necessary over and above the damage deposit to restore the said premises or contents to their original condition, including replacement.

In the event any action or suit is brought by the lessor to collect fees, deposits, surcharges or any other charges or to enforce any provision of this contract, the lessee agrees to pay the lessor, in addition to any amounts recoverable, its reasonable attorney's fees and court costs.

The lessor assumes no responsibility whatsoever for any property placed in the houses or on the grounds by the lessee or any other person permitted on the premises by the lessee during the event or in preparation for the event.

The lessee aggress to indemnify and hold harmless the lessor from any and all liabilities, costs, and expenses that may be charged against or incurred by the lessee by reason of any personal injury or property damage suffered or claimed to have been suffered in any way from any accident or occurrence arising from the use or occupancy of the grounds and gardens.
