RESCHEDULED EVENT DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER FORECAST
Browns & Beginnings
Thursday May 9th 5:00pm - Frankfort Heritage Week Premiere Event
Presented by Liberty Hall Curator John Walker and Education Coordinator Sharon Slone
When John Brown broke ground at Liberty Hall he was not even living in the new Kentucky capital of Frankfort. But in a few years' time he would move his family over the mountains and initiate a political dynasty across the expanding American west. Much is known and studied about the family’s national and international influence. But few are aware of their multigenerational influence on the political and economic history of Franklin County.
Join Liberty Hall Curator John Walker and Education Coordinator Sharon Slone at the Orlando Brown House for a presentation and discussion about the Brown family’s impact during the early vital years of the Commonwealth’s capital county.

Mothers' Garden - Now through May 8th
Mothers' Garden serves as a memorial garden that offers our community the opportunity to honor their mothers, grandmothers, or any maternal figure in their life through spring ephemerals, ferns, and other woodland species planted in their name.
For a minimum $25 donation, each honoree receives a Mothers' Day card with seeds from our historic garden, as well a Kentucky native plant planted in their name in Mother's garden. Together, we share a legacy of beauty, love, and remembrance for all to experience through the greatest of all, Mother Earth. We invite you to visit our garden throughout the season for photos, moments of reflection, or sharing with your families.
It will ask how many donations you would like to make and where to send the card. Should your donation be In Memory Of and you do not wish to send a card, please denote within the field provided. In order to receive a card, donations must be made by Wednesday May 8th 2024.
