The Kentucky Culture Symposium is one of our most valuable and important programs. It brings together national scholars and experts on the historic material culture of Kentucky and its impact on Kentucky culture today. Each year, we forge new connections with the people of Kentucky as we advance the body of knowledge in a way that is tangible and meaningful for all.

Museums often hold and exhibit collections of objects representing the elite and upper class, but this year, the theme is Common Wealth. We explore Kentucky's material record of items not just relegated to the elite, but rather the everyday people of Kentucky. So many of our cultural traditions come from family customs handed down from generation to generation, and this year we are shining a light on commonalities that embody the richness of our state.

This will be a full day of learning and includes not only four brilliant speakers, but also breakfast & coffee hour, lunch, and a private tour of the Filson Historical Society collections. The annual Kentucky Culture Symposium is held in a different city each year, so a big thank you to the Filson for hosting us this year.

There is limited space, so please make sure to secure your reservation today!
